2008 Oath of Office Ceremony

Medina Tea Party - April 15

Date:
04/07/2009 - 04/25/2009

Tax Day Tea Party

The Tax Day Tea Party is a national collaborative grassroots effort organized by Smart Girl Politics,
Top Conservatives on Twitter, the DontGo Movement and many other online groups/coalitions.

On April 15, 2009 Medina, Ohio will witness one of the most forceful grass-roots demonstrations this area
has seen in decades.  In a gathering not engineered by any political party or public official, the people
of Medina County who are fed up with the antics of our elected representatives in Washington D.C. and
Columbus will give vent to a groundswell of frustration by holding a Tea Party at the Medina City Square.
Reminiscent of the Boston Tea Party and similar demonstrations leading up to the American Revolution,
everyday citizens are speaking out against the efforts of the Obama and Strickland administrations to grow
government to heights heretofore unimagined and further limit the rights of individuals.  If we are to
maintain a free society in our nation, we must speak out now!

Since taking office the Obama administration has produced and passed two of the largest pork barrel spending
bills in our nation's history totaling over $1.2 trillion dollars, that works out to $16 billion dollars a day since
taking office! Spending at this inflated rate will not only impede our economic recovery but literally produce
mountains of crushing debt that will mortgage our children's and grandchildren's futures.  Not to be outdone by
his comrades in Washington, Ohio Governor Ted Strickland who in his State of the State address indicated there
would be "no new taxes" is now attempting to create or raise nearly 120 "administrative fees" and his 2009-2011,
at $120.3 billion dollars, will most certainly include new or increased personal and business taxes to achieve his
stated goals.  How will that help Ohio's staggering 9.4% unemployment rate and how will more government and
increased taxes make Ohio any more "business friendly"?

The bedrock of our Government has been based upon personal freedoms and liberties and the founders of this
nation achieved those freedoms by demanding no taxation without representation.  Our Constitution must not
be sold off by this Administration through programs that are destructive of our foundational principals of liberty,
such as the current "card check" legislation, which would take away the right of workers to a secret ballot.  The
Bill of Rights should not be abused or manipulated by broadcast "fairness" doctrines, nor should we as a nation
embrace a Washington DC agenda that in all regards promotes trickle up poverty.

Our nation was in a time of war and financial crisis before President Obama took office.  Unfortunately, it appears
from his first 75 days in office that he is violating the First Law of Holes:  When in a hole, stop digging!   The
irresponsible actions of President Obama, his Administration, the Democrat led Congress, and the Democrat
dominated Ohio government threaten the very foundations of our free society.   In dramatic fashion our so-called
leaders strive continuously to subjugate the freedom of the individual to the collective will.  They are moving in
on every facet of our lives as they seek to take away our rights to decide how to educate our children, what we
drive, what doctor we see, how we spend, give or save our money, even what we can say.

April 15th - Tax Deadline Day - is your day to make your voice heard against this menacing tide.  Please join the
Nationwide Tea Party in Medina from 4PM-6PM to make sure the silent majority is heard loud and clear.

Sincerely,

Bill Heck
Chairman,
Medina County Republican Party
